In accordance with the High Seas Fishing Licensing Regulation, all registered Belize flagged vessels engaged in fishing or related activities shall be required to obtain a High Seas Fishing License.
An application for a license shall be made by the vessel’s resident agent or legal representative in accordance with Section 6(1) of the Regulation. An application for a license shall be accompanied by the following documents:
- The vessel’s current certificate of the registry;
- For vessels that will operate in the EEZ of another State, a corresponding valid license or permit is issued by that State.
- Power of attorney appointing a nominee or authorized representative.
- Signed and stamped statutory declaration from the owner/ operator/ master declaring no previous involvement in IUU fishing and accepting joint liability for any infraction committed against the Act.
- Annual operation plan for the vessel
- Crew list
- Current photo of the vessel
- Ownership documents as prescribed in the Application Form for High Seas Fishing License.
